The Mic/Line In provides line-level input for devices with line-level outputs and microphones. The Mic/Line In converts the analog input signal to a digital signal and provides software controls before and after the convertor. Connections are made using two three-terminal Euro style connectors.

---|---|---|
Peak Input Level (dBFS) |
Meters for each channel indicating the peak analog input level. The measurement is taken after the A/D converter, but before the Digital Gain. Use this meter in conjunction with the Max Input Level to obtain an input signal as close to 0dBFS as possible without actually clipping. |
Default = N / A Range = -100 to 20 |
Mic Detect (LED) |
When illuminated, the LED indicates that the system has detected a microphone connected to the input of the associated channel. |
Off / On |
Clip |
Red LED indicating if the signal is being clipped. |
Off / On |
Clip Hold |
Holds the clip indication until manually cleared. |
Off / On |
Phantom Power |
Toggle turning on and off phantom power to the microphone. |
Off / On |
Preamp Sensitivity (dBu) |
The maximum analog level, coming into the Mic/Line Input card, that can be converted without clipping. This level is typically set slightly higher than the source's output level, so that the Peak Input Level reads about 0 dBFS without actually clipping. You can select the field and enter the value you want, or click and drag the number to the value. Varies inversely with the Preamp Gain. |
Default = 9 Range = 12 to -56 |
Preamp Gain (dB) |
The amount of Gain applied to the incoming analog signal level. Varies inversely with the Preamp Sensitivity. |
Default = 3 Range = 0 to 68 |

Status |
Displays the current status of the card both in text and color. The following is a list of possible status colors, and some example conditions. NOTE: These conditions are examples, and may not be applicable to all components with a Status field. OK – Green – (0) – Audio is good, hardware is good. Compromised – Orange – (1) – Audio is good but a redundancy mechanism is active (one LAN down but the other is still up) or a non-fatal hardware problem exists (fans too slow, temperature higher than expected, etc.) Fault – Red – (2) – Audio is not passing, or hardware is malfunctioning or mis-configured (amplifier power off, audio streams broken, wrong type of I/O Card installed, loudspeaker short circuit, etc.) Missing – Red – (3) – A piece of hardware, defined in the design, has not been discovered. Audio is not passing through that piece of hardware. Initializing – Blue – (5) – In the process of firmware, configuration update, and design start. Audio is obviously bad. Not Present – Gray – A virtual component in the design, that is designated as Dynamically Paired, and Not Required ,has no hardware assigned to it. |
N / A |
There are no adjustable properties for the I/O-22 Mic/Line In card. However, when the component is selected, you can select some of the Properties available for the entire IO/22 component. For an explanation of these properties refer to the IO/22 Status topic.
The available Control Pins depend on settings in Properties.
