USB Audio Bridge In and Out Components

• USB Audio Class (UAC) compliant which means you have no drivers to install.
• Audio stream is 48 kHz, 16 bit PCM data
• The Core 110f and I/O-8 Flex support:
  • up to four sets of USB Audio components. You can have four Sound Cards with up to 8 inputs and 8 output connections per set. You can have up to four Speakerphones with one input and one output connection per set.
  • You can have combinations of Speakerphone and Sound Cards as described above.
  • In addition, the Core 110f and I/O-8 Flex support one Speakerphone (one input connection, and one output connection) and one Sound Card (one input connection and one output connection) and a combination of the two.
• The TSC-7t, and I/O USB Bridge support one Speakerphone (one input connection, and one output connection) and one Sound Card (one input connection and one output connection).
• You can connect to a Mac, PC, or some Windows based tablets. The tablets require an on-the-go cable.
• Devices connecting to the Core must have their sound system configured to make Q-SYS the default input and/or output device.

The following controls are found in the Core 110f, TSC-7t, I/O USB Bridge and the I/O-8 Flex components.

The available Control Pins depend on settings in Properties.

1. Select the Core component in the Q-SYS Designer Inventory.
2. In the USB Endpoint Count Property, indicate how many USB Endpoints you want in your design. You may have up to 4 USB Endpoint pairs (in / out).
3. For each USB Endpoint, select the Type. The Type Property affects both In and Out components.
   1. If you select Speakerphone Type, skip to Finish – Step 1.
   2. If you select Soundcard Type, continue with either Line or Speakers.
      1. Input Mode: Line

         NOTE: If you select 0 (zero) for the input or output count, the component is deleted from the schematic and Inventory. You can change the count to restore the component to Inventory.

         1. Select Input Count (how many input channels) you want for the USB Endpoint. Choices are 0, 2, 4, 6, or 8.
         2. Select Output Count (how many output channels) you want for the USB Endpoint. Choices are 0, 2, 4, 6, or 8.
      2. Speakers Input Mode

         NOTE: If you select 0 (zero) for the input or output count, the component is deleted from the schematic and Inventory. You can change the count to restore the component to Inventory.

         1. Select the Speaker Mode (the configuration of your speakers) you want for the USB Endpoint. Choices are Stereo, Quadraphonic, 5.1 or 7.1.
         2. Select Output Count (how many output channels) you want for the USB Endpoint. Choices are 0, 2, 4, 6, or 8.
4. Drag the USB In and Out components into your design and connect the wiring as required. If you are using Speakerphone type, be sure to include the Acoustic Echo Canceler component in your design.
5. Connect a USB
   1. For the Core 110f, connect a Type B connector to the USB Type B receptacle on the rear panel.
   2. Connect the other end (Type A connector) to your computer.
6. Compile your design containing the USB components.
7. Open the "Sound" dialog on your computer. (Windows 7 - Control Panel > Sound)
8. On the Playback tab select either "Speakerphone Out n", "Speakers n" or "Line Out n" . Each of these have a reference to Q-SYS Core 110f to separate them from other devices. (NOTE: The Playback tab lists the output devices for Windows. When you select a Q-SYS device on the Playback dialog, you are sending the signal to the USB device In component in your design.)
9. After selecting the device you want, click the Set Default button.
10. On the Recording tab, select either "Speakerphone In n" or one of the Q-SYS Line In devices. These Windows Input devices are receiving the signal from the USB device Out component in your design.
11. You are ready to use your USB connections.
12. Any audio played on the PC (or received from your conferencing software) is sent to the USB device In on the Core then processed by the components in your design.
13. Audio played on the Core (or spoken into a microphone) is sent through the USB device Out to the PC where it can be sent to your conferencing software.

1. Select the TSC-7t component in the Q-SYS Designer Inventory and drag it into the schematic.
2. In the USB Audio Endpoints Property, select Yes for either or both Speakerphone and Soundcard. When you select Yes, the Speakerphone In / Out, and or the Soundcard In / Out components display in the Inventory under the TSC-7t.
3. Drag the appropriate components into your design.
4. Connect an audio source to the USB Speakerphone Out and to the USB Soundcard Out component. These components send the audio through the USB connection to your computer.
5. Connect the Speakerphone In and Soundcard in to an output device such as an amplifier.

NOTE:   If you are using Speakerphone type, be sure to include the Acoustic Echo Canceler component in your design.

6. Connect a USB cable with a Micro-B type connector to the USB Micro-B receptacle on the side of the TSC-7t.
7. Connect the other end (Type A connector) to your computer.
8. Compile your design.
