The CXD-Q Amplifier Out component is used to send audio over Q-LAN, to the CXD-Q output channels. This component provides the inputs to the output stage of the amplifier. All audio sent to the amplifier output section is from this component via Q-LAN. The Line Inputs on the rear of the amplifier are converted to digital audio and sent to the CXD-Q Input component via Q-LAN.
Amplifiers are added to the Inventory list based on the physical amplifiers in your system. Each amplifier in the Inventory list has Components associated with it that are placed in the Schematic for configuration and wiring. The CXD-Q Out Control Panel is used for telemetry, and control of the On/Standby button, the Mute buttons, Gain controls. The same controls are available on the amplifier's front panel.
The inputs are digital audio from any appropriate component within Q-SYS Designer. There can be from one to four inputs depending on the FAST configuration.
The outputs are digital audio connecting to loudspeaker components.
The CXD-Q amplifiers are capable of supplying 70V or 100V outputs. In order to use this mode, you must connect an appropriate loudspeaker component to the CXD-Q Out component. For QSC loudspeaker components, capable of using 70V or 100V, set the Mode Property of the component to either 70V or 100V. Q-SYS sets the amplifier to this mode when the design is deployed.
In addition, when an amplifier is set to either 70V or 100V mode, a 50 Hz high-pass filter is automatically added in line to protect the loudspeakers.
In order to set the CXD4.2Q amplifiers to 70V or 100V mode you must configure the outputs to channels A and B bridged, and channels C and D bridged (A+B C+D).
The controls listed below are divided into sections to match the Control Panel sections.
Once you establish the initial settings for a component, you can save those settings, along with all the other component's settings, in a Snapshot.

Status |
Displays the current status of the amplifier both in text and color. The following is a list of possible status colors, and some example conditions. OK – Green – (0) – Audio is good, hardware is good. Compromised – Orange – (1) – Audio is good but a redundancy mechanism is active (one LAN down but the other is still up) or a non-fatal hardware problem exists (fans too slow, temperature higher than expected, etc.) Fault – Red – (2) – Audio is not passing, or hardware is malfunctioning or mis-configured (amplifier power off, audio streams broken, wrong type of I/O Card installed, loudspeaker short circuit, etc.) Missing – Red – (3) – A piece of hardware, defined in the design, has not been discovered. Audio is not passing through that piece of hardware. Initializing – Blue – (5) – In the process of firmware, configuration update, and design start. Audio is obviously bad. Not Present – Gray – A virtual component in the design, that is designated as Dynamically Paired, and Not Required ,has no hardware assigned to it. |
