The Q-SYS system provides security capabilities for all of the Q-SYS networked hardware, and for specific features in a Q-SYS design. Q-SYS security is administered in the Configurator, and in the Administrator.
Q-SYS networked hardware comes with a default hostname, IP Address and other network settings. When you connect the hardware to the Q-LAN network, the Configurator enables you to change or set the network settings and set a password for each piece of Q-SYS hardware on the Q-LAN network. Refer to the Configurator topic for details.
Once a password is set, the following areas on that networked device are protected, and you must provide the password for access.
NOTE: The password for each networked device is set separately. The passwords are not related.

In a Q-SYS system, you create Users as part of the scheme to control access to various functions and features. If a User has permission to access the Administrator, that person may create, delete and edit any User. Once a User is created, and a PIN assigned, the PIN cannot be viewed, it is replaced by the Change PIN button.
