Q-SYS Compatibility
Releases of Q-SYS Designer Software (QDS) sometimes add support for new hardware/software and remove support for End of Life (EOL) hardware/software, including Q-SYS Core processors, peripherals, loudspeakers, accessories, and QDS software versions. As a rule:
- Hardware introduced in a release is compatible with future QDS releases until the hardware is deprecated and no longer supported.
- Hardware introduced in a release is not backward-compatible with previous releases.
- Software for Discontinued Products will be supported throughout the standard warranty period. However, features introduced in newer QDS releases may not be compatible with discontinued products.
Hardware Compatibility: by Product
Learn about the hardware compatibility by Q-SYS Designer Software (QDS) version. It details the timeline of hardware introduction, specifying the version in which each piece of hardware was first supported. Additionally, it outlines when support for each hardware was discontinued, again indicating the specific version.
Hardware Compatibility: by QDS Version

Provides information about how to transition from one software version to another. Specifically, it outlines the supported paths for upgrading an operating system or software application. These paths may include moving from an older version to a newer one, migrating between different editions of the same release, or upgrading to a different build within the same version.
Deprecation Notices
These features and options are planned to be discontinued in future releases. Q-SYS highly recommends that you start transitioning now to the newer functionality, as noted, to ensure compatibility with future firmware releases.
