HID Media
Use the HID Media component to control media application playback, including volume level, on a remote PC or Mac computer connected to a Q-SYS device that supports the HID Media component.
HID Keyboard, HID Media, and HID Conferencing are inventory components included with these Q-SYS devices:
- Core Nano
- Core 8 Flex
- Core 24f
- Core 110f and Core 110c
- NV-21-HU Network Video Endpoint
- NV-32-H (Core Capable) Network Video Endpoint
- I/O-USB Bridge
- TSC-70-G3
- TSC-101-G3
Note: HID Conferencing is not available on NVM-302E and NVM-302D devices.
- You need a USB A / B cable to connect a PC or Mac computer to the Q-SYS device.
- HID Media is designed to control a remote computer – connected to a Q-SYS device supporting the HID Media component – from another Q-LAN-connected device, such as a computer or touch screen controller. Do not use the component directly from the computer connected to the Q-SYS device, as unexpected behavior can occur.
- For devices with a USB-B port, connect a USB A / B cable between the computer and the Q-SYS devices' USB-B port.
- For devices with only a USB-C port (such as NV-21-HU and Core 24f), connect a USB-C cable between the computer and the Q-SYS device's USB-C port.
-
Connect the USB A / B cable's rectangular 'A' connector to a USB port on a PC or Mac computer.
-
Connect the other end of the cable, the square 'B' connector, to the USB B port on the rear panel of the Q-SYS Core 110f processor.
-
On another PC connected to the Q-SYS network, drag the HID Media component into your schematic from the Core 110f inventory tree.
-
Press F5 to save your design to the Core and run it.
-
Double-click the component to open the control panel. Use the buttons to remotely control playback within a Core-connected computer media application.
Note: The Core-connected computer's OS determines which media application is controlled.
Tip: For additional properties that are not listed, refer to the Properties Panel help topic for more information.
